Plexii: a desktop workspace that holds your focus

A task-scoped desktop workspace for people with ADHD and high distractibility. Create a task, attach the exact tools and sites it needs, and that becomes a locked focus space. No tab drift, no context loss.

in beta testing with individuals and businesses using it; cross-platform desktop build with background auto-updates.

The Plexii canvas with a note, an email client, a chat channel, a wiki page, a product document and an AI assistant open together as movable windows.
One task, one canvas. The tools a piece of work needs sit side by side in a single space instead of scattered across tabs, windows and applications.

A look inside

A Plexii desk split into two panes: a live browser window on the left and a long-form document open beside it on the right.
Split the desk when two things have to be read against each other. Panes are arrangements of the same objects, not separate windows to manage.
The room switcher: a vertical list of desks, each shown as a thumbnail of its own layout, with a New room button at the bottom.
Every desk keeps its own arrangement. Switching rooms restores the layout you left, so context survives between pieces of work.
The Plexii assistant panel, scoped to the current desk, offering to break work into steps, draft a first version, research a topic, or suggest what to do next.
The assistant is scoped to the desk it sits on. It can see what you have open there, so its suggestions are about this work rather than generic prompts.

The work

  1. Stage: points

    The problem

People lose focus to drifting tabs and scattered tools, until the workspace itself becomes the distraction. Generic productivity apps add another place to check rather than removing places to go.

  2. Stage: connections

    What we built

A cross-platform desktop application built around one mechanic: a task owns its tools. Attach only the sites and apps that task needs and the workspace locks to them. Data is local-first on the device, and installed copies update themselves in the background.

    • Electron 33
    • React 18 + TypeScript
    • SQLite (better-sqlite3), local-first
    • Zustand
    • Tailwind CSS
  3. Stage: resolved

    The result

In beta, with individuals and businesses using it in real work. Applied AI's side of the build centred on product, experience, and the AI features.
